The IDF has cleared for publication the death of combat engineering soldier Ari Goldberg, 23, originally from Virginia, who was found without signs of life in southern Israel.
The circumstances are under investigation by the Military Police, and the findings will be transferred for review by the Military Advocate General, as is standard in such cases.
Goldberg made aliyah and enlisted as a lone soldier, building a life in the Negev and becoming part of a tight-knit local community that embraced him as family.
His death brings the number of fallen IDF soldiers counted for 2025 to 152.
