Madonna might be coming to Israel in 2019 to perform at Eurovision.

Madonna might be coming to Israel in 2019 to perform side-by-side with Netta Barzilai, winner of last year’s Eurovision competition. Wouldn’t that be something?
The Queen of Pop is reportedly negotiating a contract to perform at Eurovision on May 14 in Tel Aviv. Israel’s Ynet news site reports that Madonna is indeed ready to perform in the Jewish State. Over 100,000 fans are expected to attend the popular music contest, in which singers from over 40 countries participate.
Tel Aviv also revealed on Tuesday a “tent city,” which will help the area deal with the extra tourists the contest is expected to bring in over the summer. It will be up from May until the end of June, extended for the Tel Aviv Pride Parade.
The tent project, created by the Tel Aviv municipality, will hold about 2,000 people. Not only will it have recreation and party areas, but it will feature shower facilities, food stands and bike rentals.
“The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality is planning to host an extraordinary Eurovision experience for the thousands of tourists who are expected to visit Tel Aviv,” Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor Ron Huldai said.
“The ‘Tent City’ is just one example of the many initiatives we are working on, in order to create the perfect tourist experience and make sure that visitors can enjoy everything that the city has to offer,” the mayor said.
In September, the European Broadcasting Union and the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation selected Tel Aviv as the most suitable host city in Israel for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The main venue will be at Charles Clore Seaside Park, overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
Barzilai, 25, won the contest in Lisbon, Portugal in May with “Toy,” a catchy techno dance tune about women’s empowerment. This will be the third time Israel has hosted Eurovision, having done so in 1979 and 1999. Both times the event was held in Jerusalem.
