Megyn Kelly fumes over joke mocking her ties to far-right anti-Israel influencers

The internet personality and former TV host ripped the Babylon Bee after it published a satirical article suggesting she feared being assassinated by Israel’s Mossad over her support for anti-Israel podcasters.

SiriusXM podcaster and former television host Megyn Kelly excoriated a satirical conservative website last week over a faux news article suggesting Kelly feared being assassinated by Israel’s Mossad over her support for anti-Israel online influencers.

Last Thursday, The Babylon Bee published a satirical article titled “Megyn Kelly Gets Rid Of Old Pager Just To Be Safe.”

The story, which referenced Israel’s pager bombings against Hezbollah terrorists in 2024, included fictitious quotes by Kelly suggesting she feared reprisal from Israel over her stance in the growing divide on the American right over support for the Jewish state.

“You can never be too safe these days,” the fake Kelly quote read. “From what I’ve seen, being opposed to Israel and carrying a pager can be a dangerous combination.”

Following the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, critics of Israel, including podcaster Candace Owens, have suggested that Israel was behind the killing, motivated by Kirk’s criticism of Israel and policy differences with some supporters of the Jewish state.

Thursday’s article appeared to parody those conspiracy theories while also poking fun at Kelly’s embrace of far-right Israel critics including Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

In recent months, Kelly has sought to position herself as a neutral arbiter within the conservative movement, hosting both anti- and pro-Israel figures and pushing for a rapprochement between Carlson and Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro.

She has come under fire, however, over her continued embrace of Carlson following an interview with Hitler admirer and white supremacist Nick Fuentes that critics say did little to push back on Fuentes’ overtly racist, misogynistic, and antisemitic rhetoric.

Kelly has also repeatedly falsely accused Israel of mistreating its Christian community and has feuded with pro-Israel commentators like Mark Levin and Abe Greenwald.

On Friday, Kelly took aim at Babylon Bee owner and CEO Seth Dillon, reposting a link to Thursday’s article and writing: “WTF @SethDillon.” Her post has garnered nearly 6.5 million views.

Shortly afterward, the Bee removed the story, even as Dillon pushed back on the “woke right” for protesting the satirical article.

“I like Megyn Kelly,” Dillon wrote on X. “I deleted the joke not because it was twisted maliciously into a threat, but because it was uncharitable to her. We’ll never do anything to appease the humorless woke right mob.”
