The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has added Israel’s first lunar-bound spacecraft to its ‘Eyes on the Solar System’ app, providing a real-time view of the positions of the universe.
Beresheet, which means “Genesis” in Hebrew, lifted off from Cape Canaveral in Florida last week atop a Falcon 9 rocket from the private U.S.-based SpaceX company of entrepreneur Elon Musk.
“@NASA kindly added Israeli @TeamSpaceIL #Beresheet spacecraft to their ‘Eyes on the Solar System’ simulator, visualizing real time data from #SpaceIL mission control. Click the link & live-track Israel’s journey to the moon on #NASAs galactic radar,” the Israel Space Agency tweeted on Wednesday.”
“NASA’s Eyes on the Solar System simulates a view of the solar system with the live actual positions of the planets, moons and spacecrafts, based on real data, shown where they are right now,” the agency said, providing a link to find Beresheet.
Beresheet is set to land on the moon in the Sea of Tranquility on April 11.
