“I heard President Abbas yesterday say that the Palestinians teach their children peace. Unfortunately, that’s not true. They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists,” Netanyahu stated.
Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, at a joint press conference Wednesday with US President Donald Trump in Washington, claimed that children raised in the PA-administered areas of Judea and Samaria are taught values of peace.
“I affirm to you that we are raising our youth, our children, our grandchildren on a culture of peace,” Abbas said, notwithstanding the anti-Israel hate and incitement to violence prevalent in Palestinian schools, media and cultural events.
Indeed, the PA incitement to murder Jews begins from early childhood with children’s toys, entertainment, video games, public education, social media and general Palestinian culture. Palestinian streets, squares and cultural institutions are frequently named after terrorists with blood on their hands.
Ahead of his meeting with Abbas, Trump had “raised concerns about the payments to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails who have committed acts of terror,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer stated.
Netanyahu: ‘I Hope it’s Possible to Achieve Change’
“I heard President Abbas yesterday say that the Palestinians teach their children peace. Unfortunately, that’s not true. They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed at the opening of a meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu in Jerusalem, where the two leaders discussed increasing bilateral cooperation in cyber, agriculture and trade, among other issues.
“But I hope that it’s possible to achieve a change and to pursue a genuine peace,” Netanyahu added. “This is something Israel is always ready for. I’m always ready for genuine peace.”
