Netanyahu heads to NY for GA to ‘present Israel’s truth’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Barack Obama on Wednesday and will address the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara left on Tuesday for New York where he will address the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday and is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama on Wednesday.

Netanyahu will also meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and visit an exhibit of artwork of the late IDF soldier Hadar Goldin, which is currently being displayed at UN headquarters to the leaders of the world and is meant to highlight the demand for the return of his remains currently held by Hamas.

“We are in the midst of a very important diplomatic week for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu stated before his departure.

He said he will “present Israel’s case, Israel’s truth, Israel’s justice and also Israel’s heroism – the heroism of our soldiers, our police officers and our citizens, who are waging an uncompromising struggle against brutal terrorism” in his address to the GA.

“I expect from the international community a uniform standard in the war on terrorism. Today the entire international community says that there is a need to wage a determined and uncompromising fight against terrorism. And indeed, they must also support the determined and uncompromising fight against terrorism, and this moral clarity is necessary to both fight against – and defeat – terrorism,” he added.

Netanyahu will also meet African heads of state with whom he will attend a special event in which Israeli technologies, which are currently in use in Africa, will be presented.

Israel has recently launched a diplomatic campaign to foster ties with several African countries, which peaked with Netanyahu’s historic visit to several West African countries in July.

Netanyahu will also hold a series of meetings with various heads of state from around the world.
