Netanyahu said on Wednesday that there was progress in continued talks with the Trump administration on Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of progress on Wednesday in talks with the US regarding Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria.
“The talks have not been completed, but there is progress and it will be heard from my representative when we arrive in Israel,” Netanyahu said before departing back to Israel from a state visit in China.
Netanyahu spent last week discussing the issue with Trump’s chief adviser on international negotiations, Jason Greenblatt, in the framework of an agreed-upon joint US-Israel team.
The new joint mechanism has faced resistance from staunch advocates of additional construction in Judea and Samaria.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s chief of staff, Yoav Horowitz, traveled to Washington on Sunday to join Israeli US ambassador Ron Dermer for further discussions with Greenblatt.
