Netanyahu to Iran: ‘We’re not a rabbit, we’re a tiger’

Prime Minister Netanyahu conveyed a message through Kazakhstan to Iranian President Rouhani, saying that Israel ‘is not a rabbit, but a tiger.’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed determination and resolve against Iranian threats during his visit Wednesday in Kazakhstan.

President Nursultan Nazarbayev had volunteered to transmit a message from Netanyahu to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who will be visiting Astana next week.

“Ask him why Iran continues to threaten us with annihilation,” Netanyahu responded to Nazarbayev. “Don’t you understand: we’re not a rabbit. We’re a tiger.”

Earlier in the day, the Iranian outlet Press TV reported on remarks by Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khameini, who said that Israel will cease to exist within 25 years if unity is established between the Palestinians and the Islamic world at large.

Khamenei also stressed his country’s goal to “liberate Palestine.”

“Despite being engaged in certain regional issues, the Islamic Republic has always announced explicitly that Palestine is the number one issue in the Muslim world and has fulfilled its obligations in this regard,” Khamenei reportedly told Ramadan Abdullah Shalah, leader of the Palestinian terrorist organization Islamic Jihad.

This was not the first time Israel has conveyed messages to Iran through a third party. Almost two years ago, Israel sought help from Russia after an airstrike in Syria that was allegedly launched by the IDF that eliminated 12 Hezbollah and Iranian fighters, including an Iranian general. Russia sent calming messages to Tehran and Beirut on behalf of Israel in order to prevent any conflagration of war.
