Netanyahu’s wife passes polygraph test amid corruption probe

As corruption cases against Netanyahu and his family proceed, the results of his wife’s polygraph test indicate she is telling the truth about key matters.

Last week, Sara Netanyahu elected to take a private polygraph test as part of an investigation related to improper use of public funds for expenses at the Prime Minister’s residence and for elder care for her ill father, in addition to charges related to catered dinners and housekeeping expenses.

Currently, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is determining whether to hand down an indictment on this matter, among other investigations related to the Netanyahus. The indictments concern the use of government money for private purposes.

The polygraph test was administered by the Tal Polygraph Institute, with the results published by Israel’s News1 site and broadcast by Channel 2.

According to a report by the Times of Israel, Netanyahu truthfully answered “yes” to the query, “Did you censure (residence caretaker) Menny Naftali for ordering too much food for the Prime Minister’s Residence?”

The polygraph test indicates she also answered truthfully in the negative to the following three key questions: “Did you order those responsible to inflate the number of guests at meals in the prime minister’s residence?”; “Did you ever ask workers to list private events as state events?”; “Were you aware in real time of the breaking of rules regarding the ordering of food and other items for the prime minister’s residence?”

Netanyahu was deemed to be telling the truth regarding these matters. Under Israeli law, the results are not admissible as evidence in criminal court to prove the truth of the matter asserted.
