New ‘Kushner Inc.’ book says Trump’s plan includes Saudi-Jordanian land swaps

In “Kushner, Inc.,” Vicky Ward paints an unflattering picture of Trump’s son-in-law as the primary architect of a Middle East peace plan with wildly unrealistic terms.

While speculation has swirled around U.S. President Donald Trump’s as-yet unreleased Middle East peace plan, few concrete terms of the “deal of the century” have emerged during the past year and a half.

According to a new book written by British journalist Vicky Ward, Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner commandeered the administration’s Mideast portfolio from then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, proposing a peace plan that consisted of a number of far-fetched land swaps and funding arrangements involving Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the Palestinians.

Ward claims that her sources included “multiple people who saw drafts of [Kushner’s] plan,” which she says required “the Saudis and Emiratis to provide economic assistance to the Palestinians” and included “an oil pipeline from Saudi Arabia to Gaza, where refineries and a shipping terminal could be built.”

According to Ward, Ksuhner reasoned that the “profits would create desalination plants, where Palestinians could find work, addressing the high unemployment rate.”

Ward also maintains that Kushner’s Mideast peace plan included land swaps in which Jordan would cede land to the Palestinians and would receive in exchange land from the Saudis, who would get “two Red Sea islands it gave Egypt to administer in 1950.”

In response to reports about the plan, White House Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt tweeted, “No one who has seen the plan would spread misinformation like that. Whoever made these claims has bad info. Next time feel free to reach out to us before you run with a story. A lot of people are sharing false info with the press now for bad reasons.”

Ward’s book, entitled “Kushner, Inc.: Greed. Ambition. Corruption. The Extraordinary Story of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump,” was released on Tuesday by St. Martin’s Press.

According to online reviews, the book paints Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump as causing tumult in the White House, claiming the couple was behind high-profile exits of figures such as Steve Bannon, former economic adviser Gary Cohn, former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and ex-head of the FBI James Comey.

The Trump administration has signaled it will release the actual plan following Israeli elections on April 9.
