Nice Jewish boys save Swastika tattooed man from drowning

Not having noticed the tattoo earlier, the boys said that they have no regrets about their actions.

Four Jewish teenagers helped save a man with a Nazi tattoo from drowning in Boston last Thursday evening, NBC10Boston reported Friday.

While taking a walk along the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, the religious high-schoolers noticed that there was a person in the water who wasn’t moving. Luckily, police officer Carl Mascioli was patrolling the area in his car, and two of the boys ran over to tell him about the emergency.

“As I approached them, two of them ran up to my car to tell me there was a body in the water,” the Boston College patrolman told the news channel. He ran down the short embankment and pulled the partially submerged man out of the reservoir.

As he was doing so, he said, “I also observed that he had a swastika on his hand.”

He had no qualms about telling the man who had helped save him.

“I kind of let the gentleman know sometimes some deeds have a funny way of turning around,” he told NBC10, “that their good deed had a little bit of a twist to it.”

The teens, who all attend the same yeshiva in Brighton, Massachusetts, were not allowed to speak to the press. However, the reporter said that he was told that after finding out about the tattoo “the students had no regrets” about having possibly saving the life of an anti-Semite.

Mascioli said they did have a message for the man. “They wanted just … that he should know that it was four young Jewish boys that helped save his life.”

The man, who according to police could have easily drowned to death if it were not for the teens’ actions, is expected to make a full recovery.
