Palestinian Authority portrays terrorist murderer as Jesus on the cross

Samer Arbid is the Palestinian terrorist arrested with two others for blowing up a 17-year-old Jewish girl.

Palestinian terrorist Samer Mina Salim Arbid, 44, was portrayed as Christ on the Cross by official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, reports Palestinian Media Watch head Itamar Marcus on Wednesday.

The paper portrayed Arbid as a crucified Jesus in a cartoon in the Oct. 16 edition, PMW reports.

“Portraying a Palestinian terrorist suspected of murder as Jesus is in keeping with the PA’s rewriting history and its fundamental support of terror, which claims that Jesus was the first Palestinian ‘Martyr,’ and that terrorist murderers are heroes,” Marcus writes.

Arbid was arrested for killing 17-year-old Rina Shnerb in an Aug. 23 attack.

Together with two other terrorists, Arbid remotely detonated a bomb as Rina made her way to the Dolev spring with her father, Eitan, and brother, Dvir, who were both injured in the blast.

Arbid is a member of the terror group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, according to Marcus, who says that the PA daily published the cartoon portraying the terrorist as Jesus because he was hospitalized for two days, which the PA blames on the Israeli interrogation.

After the terrorists’ capture, the Shnerb family said that “throughout the entire process we had full confidence in the security forces and we thank them for the effort invested in catching the killers.”

“We call on the government to provide full security to every traveler and on the nation of Israel to continue to live, to travel and to add good throughout our land,” they added.

Rabbi Shnerb remembers the bomb going off. “Everything went black. Dvir shouts to me and I shout to Rina.”

“But I saw her down. I looked at her and saw right away that she wasn’t alive,” he said.
