A Palestinian terrorist attempted to blow up a military court in Samaria on Sunday, but Israeli forces securing the compound were successful in thwarting the attack.
The terrorist arrived at the courthouse and when he attempted to enter the compound the metal detector went off. A search of his clothing revealed he was carrying a pipe bomb.
The court was shut down, while sappers were alerted to the scene and safely dismantled the explosive charge.
A similar incident occurred in May.
The foiled terrorist attack occurred against the backdrop of a newly hatched Palestinian “unity” pact between warring factions Fatah and the Hamas terrorist organization. Among the sticking points in the agreement are demands that Hamas cease it’s direction of violent attacks against Israelis.
