IDF forces work around the clock to fight Palestinian terrorism and are often faced with hostile crowds.
IDF forces launched a massive counter-terror operation at the Al-Fawar refugee camp, in the Hebron area early Tuesday morning, during which a Palestinian was killed.
A massive force of three IDF battalions conducted mass arrests and weapons seizures when they encountered Palestinian rioters who tried to hinder the operation by throwing rocks and improvised explosive devices.
Palestinian sources report that a 17-year was killed in the clashes from IDF gunfire. The sources named him as Mohammed Abu Hashhash. Several other rioters were reportedly wounded in the confrontations.
The IDF stated it was investigating the incident.
No IDF soldiers were harmed during the operation.
