Israeli forces shot a Palestinian woman who appeared hostile and failed to obey orders to halt.

A Palestinian female was shot and lightly wounded on Monday at the Qalandiya checkpoint, just north of Jerusalem, after she approached security forces in a threatening manner.

The suspect approached the guards at a passway meant for vehicles while holding an unidentified object.

The forces called on her to stop, and when she disobeyed the order, they shot her in the leg.

She was lightly injured and taken to a Jerusalem hospital for treatment.

Police identified the suspect as a 20-year-old from the Palestinian village of Akeb.

No Israelis were harmed in the incident.

The Qalandiya crossing has been the site of numerous Palestinian terror attacks over the past year. The role of female Palestinian terrorists has grown markedly in the most recent wave of terror attacks.

This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks which have plagued Israelis over the course of more than a year, claiming the lives of 45 victims and wounding over 650.
