Palestinian terror shows no sign of abating

The seamlessly endless string of Palestinian terror attacks continued through Monday night and Tuesday morning as Israeli security forces worked to thwart them.

The latest attack occurred early Tuesday morning, when a Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab IDF soldiers stationed at the entrance to the Palestinian village of Bani Naim, in the Hebron area.

The terrorist was shot dead, while Israeli forces were unharmed.

The Hebron area has been the scene of several terror attacks since Friday.

Prior to that incident, an IDF force conducting a counterterrorism operation in the Dahaisha refugee camp in the Bethlehem area was attacked with rocks and firebombs. Two IDF soldiers were hit by one of the bombs, one sustaining burn injuries and the other suffering from smoke inhalation. Both were evacuated to a hospital in Jerusalem.

In related news, IDF forces arrested 27 Palestinians wanted in connection with terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria.

A police force operating in the Palestinian village of Katane arrested two suspects after they were found to have a stolen handgun and eight attack dogs in their possession.

A bus driver was lightly injured while driving at the outskirts of Jerusalem when the windshield was smashed by a rock. Police forces searched the area for the Palestinians who threw it.

These incidents were the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of almost a year, claiming the lives of 39 victims and wounding over some 550.

Policewoman Still in Critical Condition

The policewoman who was seriously wounded in Sunday’s stabbing attack in Jerusalem remains in critical and stable condition. The officer, 38 and a mother of two, underwent surgery at Shaare Tzedek hospital in the capital and is in the intensive care unit. Another officer who sustained moderate injuries in the attack is being treated at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The terrorist is in critical condition after being shot at the scene.

Israel expects that the Palestinians will intensify their terror attacks as the Jewish New Year holidays commence in less than two weeks.
