A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and wounded an IDF soldier on Sunday morning at the entrance to Jerusalem.

The soldier, 21, sustained light wounds to his upper body and was taken to a hospital in the capital for treatment.

The terrorist was apprehended by a security guard who was stationed nearby to secure a mall and was then handed over to police.

Jerusalem District Police Chief Commander Moshe Edri commended the security guard for his “alertness, resourcefulness and prompt response which prevented a larger attack outside the central bus station.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the terrorist was a 30-year-old Palestinian.

Also on Sunday, IDF forces prevented two stabbing attacks in Hebron and Samaria.

In Hebron, security forces caught a female Palestinian with a knife during a routine check.

In Samaria, suspicious security guards approached a female Palestinian as she neared an entrance to an Israeli community. She threw a knife she was carrying and ran, but was caught by the guards.

These attacks came after several other attacks over the weekend.

Israel blames the Palestinian attacks on incitement.

These incidents were the latest in a long series of almost-daily Palestinian terror attacks – some more than once a day – that have plagued Israelis over the course of three months, claiming the lives of 23 victims and wounding over 220.
