A Palestinian terrorist carried out a combined ramming and stabbing attack Friday morning near the Gush Etzion Junction. Two Israelis were wounded, one seriously and the other lightly.
In the first incident, which occurred close to 7 a.m., a 70-year-old man was run over by the terrorist and lightly wounded. He was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
The assailant then proceeded to the Efrat junction, where he ran over a 35-year-old man, who suffered a serious head injury and was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem. According to a Magen David Adom spokesman, the second victim was hit by the same vehicle that hit the elderly man.
The Palestinian then exited the car and, armed with a knife, ran towards an IDF patrol, which opened fire and neutralized the terrorist, who sustained critical injuries, was treated at the scene and then evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem.
The IDF, after a preliminary investigation, said that the terrorist was a 17-year-old boy.
The Gush Etzion Junction was the scene of several Palestinian terror attacks in recent years.
