The US recently published a report confirming that Iran continues to covertly develop its ability to attack countries in the West – a feat that Israel has voiced for a long time now.
A new report published by the US State Department says that Iran has been slowly improving its cyber abilities and has developed more advanced ballistic missiles since the signing of the nuclear deal with the P5+1 last year.
Iran now has a “substantial inventory of missiles capable of reaching targets throughout the region, including US military bases and Israel,” the Pentagon said in an unclassified summary, according to Bloomberg News.
The Pentagon report is part an annual review mandated by Congress as a result of the nuclear deal being approved last year.
The Pentagon report also said that Iran aims to control strategic regions in the Middle East, including the Strait of Hormuz between the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea. The report noted that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are also working to support and carry out terror attacks to advance their strategic interests.
