Israeli Police thwart truck-ramming attack on IDF soldiers

A Palestinian terrorist stole a truck and planned to commit a ramming attack on soldiers before being stopped by authorities.

A 39-year-old Palestinian from Ramallah was detained in Rishon Letzion, near Tel Aviv, on Thursday after police chased him down. He was driving a stolen truck and smashed into a police car before being apprehended.

During questioning, he admitted that he was on his way to drive the truck into IDF soldiers.

A resident from the nearby city of Holon had alerted police that his truck was stolen. Police caught up with the terrorist before he had a chance to commit the attack.
