Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has now moved ahead of Sen. Kamala Harris in a new Hill-HarrisX poll of the Democratic presidential primary race, as reported by The Hill.

The survey was said to have been released on Monday. Support for the former mayor rose from 3 percent to 6 percent among “likely Democratic voters and Democratic-leaning independents,” said the report.

Support for Harris declined from 4 to 2 percent, according to the published results of the poll.

“However, Bloomberg still significantly trails the party’s current front-runners, former Vice President Joe Biden, Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg,” writes The Hill.

Biden still holds the lead, the survey showed, with 31 percent support ahead of Sanders who had 15 percent backing and Warren showing support from 10 percent of those asked, the news outlet reported.

Buttigieg, showing an increase in popularity, was close behind Warren with 9 percent support.

Last Wednesday, Bloomberg’s campaign spokespeople announced that a top staff member from the Harris campaign had left and switched sides to join Bloomberg’s effort. Kelly Mehlenbacher was joining as deputy chief operating officer to help the former mayor’s presidential bid, they said.

Bloomberg first entered the race on November 24.

The Hill-HarrisX poll is said to have surveyed 1,001 registered voters between November 1 and December 1. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

This was the first Hill-HarrisX poll taken since Bloomberg “officially jumped into the 2020 race, though he was included as a possible candidate in a previous survey,” said The Hill.
