Pro-Hamas influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested on rape charges

Manosphere influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate,  frequent critics of Israel who have indulged in antisemitic conspiracy theories, have been arrested on rape charges and face extradition to the UK.

US marshals arrested social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami on Saturday after British authorities requested their extradition to face dozens of charges alleging rape, sexual assault, human trafficking and other offenses.

The brothers were detained on a sealed warrant and are expected to appear in federal court as the United States begins considering Britain’s extradition request. Both men have denied wrongdoing in the cases against them.

British prosecutors announced 38 new charges following the arrests, bringing the total number of charges against the brothers to 59 and the number of alleged victims to seven.

;

Andrew Tate, 39, now faces 42 charges in Britain. The newly authorized counts include seven allegations of rape, three of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three of assault causing actual bodily harm and 19 offenses concerning indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate, 38, faces 17 charges in total. His six newly authorized charges include two counts of rape, one of sexual assault and three of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The alleged offenses occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, according to Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service. The charges are accusations and have not been proven in court.

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police,” CPS official Malcolm McHaffie said, adding that the new counts brought the number of alleged victims to seven.

“The CPS has requested the extradition of the Tates from the US,” McHaffie said. “They have been arrested and await extradition proceedings to the UK.”

;

The arrests came as Andrew Tate was preparing to participate in a bare-knuckle boxing event in Miami. The brothers had been living in Florida after Romanian authorities relaxed travel restrictions imposed in connection with separate criminal proceedings there.

Their American lawyer, Joseph McBride, characterized the British charges as “filth and slander” and accused UK authorities of attempting to interfere with lawsuits the brothers are pursuing in the United States.

“They’re pulling out all the stops to make sure these guys never get their day in court,” McBride said.

“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free,” he added. “America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”

The brothers’ arrest renewed attention not only on the criminal accusations against them but also on their political evolution into prominent anti-Israel voices whose broadcasts and social-media posts have repeatedly prompted allegations of antisemitism.

;

Andrew Tate began sharply escalating his attacks on Israel following the Hamas-led invasion of Oct. 7, 2023. He has accused Israel of “genociding the Palestinians,” praised Hamas’s violent campaign as resistance and refused to condemn the terrorist organization during an interview with Piers Morgan.

“No, I’m not going to condemn the masculine spirit of resistance,” Tate said when pressed about Hamas.

After Israeli soldiers killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza in October 2024, Tate portrayed Sinwar’s final moments as heroic.

“I can only pray for a death as heroic as Yahya Sinwar,” he wrote. “Brave, defiant in the face of evil and dedicated to his life’s purpose.”

Tate’s rhetoric has also gone beyond attacks on Israeli policies and entered territory that Jewish organizations and antisemitism researchers have described as hostility toward Jews.

;

The Anti-Defamation League has accused him of using “Jew” as an insult, spreading conspiracy theories about Jewish influence, associating with prominent antisemites and promoting Holocaust revisionism.

In one post highlighted by the organization, Tate wrote: “I don’t listen to women Mexicans or Jews.”

During a March 2025 livestream, he claimed that speaking against Jews was effectively forbidden in the United States.

“If you speak out against the Jews in America, you’re going to get in a lot of trouble,” he said.

Tate has also suggested that alleged Israeli dishonesty should lead people to question the established history of World War II.

;

“If they lied to us about Gaza and Israel … Do you think they lied about ww2?” he wrote, before arguing that the war’s history was used to “psyop the populace” into associating Nazis with evil.

The ADL has described Tate’s comments as Holocaust revisionism and has accused him of promoting theories alleging that Jews are undermining Western societies. Tate has also reposted a message from white nationalist commentator Nick Fuentes claiming that “the Matrix” was “the Jewish mafia.”

Mother Jones reported that both Andrew and Tristan Tate had shifted from criticism of Israel toward claims “clearly rooted in the blood libel,” the historic antisemitic accusation that Jews murder non-Jews, particularly children, for ritual or collective purposes.

Tristan Tate has been less prolific than his brother but has participated in broadcasts that drew similar criticism.

During an August 2024 discussion with commentator Candace Owens, Tristan described Israel as a state run by “war criminals” while Owens promoted conspiracy theories about Jews, Stalin, Kabbalah and Israeli protection of alleged Jewish criminals.

;

“Every time I question Israel, people start [to say], ‘Oh, the Holocaust is going to come back,’” Tristan said.

“No, I have no interest in the Holocaust coming back,” he added. “However, I think the state of Israel are war criminals, and I’ve said this a million times.”

Tristan also said that he did not dislike Israelis as individuals and that his hostility was directed at the Israeli government.

Both brothers were present during a January 2026 gathering of far-right internet figures in Miami at which Ye’s song “Heil Hitler” was played repeatedly in a vehicle and later at a nightclub.

Video showed Tristan Tate moving to the music, while Andrew Tate was recorded smiling inside the club as the song played. Other participants sang the lyrics and performed Nazi salutes.

;

The brothers denied choosing the music or participating in the Nazi gestures. Their attorney issued a statement saying they “condemn antisemitism and any glorification of Adolf Hitler” and that “free speech is not a license for hate.”

The Tates have built an audience of millions by promoting wealth, male dominance and an aggressively combative form of masculinity. Andrew Tate has described himself as a misogynist, although the brothers maintain that many of their most inflammatory statements were jokes, satire or remarks taken out of context.

The brothers also face separate accusations in Romania, where prosecutors have alleged that they participated in an organized group that exploited women. The Romanian case has encountered procedural and legal obstacles, and neither brother has been convicted in connection with those allegations.

The British extradition case will now move through the US federal courts. Prosecutors have emphasized that the charges do not constitute findings of guilt and warned against commentary that could prejudice future proceedings.

Bedfordshire Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas urged the public to allow the legal process to proceed.

;

“We understand the interest that this case will generate, but we would urge the public not to speculate,” Thomas said.

“There is no place for male violence against women and girls,” she added, “and we will continue to work tirelessly to support victims and investigate all reports made to us.”
