Pro-Palestinians terrorize kosher restaurant in Athens

Masked vandals threatened staff and left antisemitic graffiti in latest attack.

A kosher restaurant in Athens was vandalized on Saturday by six masked pro-Palestinian activists in a brazen antisemitic attack.

The group stormed the “King David Burger” restaurant, owned by Israeli businessman Tzvi Levinson, leaving threatening graffiti and terrifying the local Greek staff.

The attackers sprayed slogans such as “Smash Zionism” and “No Zionist is safe here” in red and black paint on the walls, the counter, and tables.

According to Levinson, the attackers also distributed anti-Israel flyers accusing Israelis of “killing babies.”

An employee who tried to leave was threatened directly. The vandals warned, “If you come out, it’s over for you,” Levinson told Israel Hayom.

He added, “We remain in shock from yesterday’s events.”

Levinson was in Israel during the incident but quickly connected online with his frightened employees.

“This kosher restaurant opened just six weeks ago and has been operating successfully,” he said.

“The restaurant displays kosher certification, clearly identifying it with Israel. These vandals completed their destruction within seconds, making intervention impossible.”

Levinson emphasized that the targeted employees were all Greek nationals.

“My sole Israeli staff member arrived only after the incident concluded,” he said.

The restaurant is located near a local police station.

Greek authorities have opened an investigation, and hate crime specialists have joined the probe.

The Israeli embassy is closely monitoring developments and coordinating with local police.

Levinson noted that the Israeli community in Athens has shown strong support.

“The overwhelming support from Israelis residing in Athens provided tremendous encouragement.

They arrived to demonstrate solidarity, singing ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ and boosting morale,” he said.

Looking ahead, Levinson called for a firmer response from the city.

“I hope Athens’s mayor will meet with me while the embassy continues its intervention. Municipal leadership must address this situation seriously,” he said.

Levinson also warned of broader consequences if the attacks continue unchecked.

“Hebrew dominates conversation throughout this Athens neighborhood. Over 5,000 Israelis visit daily. Losing this Israeli presence would be tragic. Without proper governmental response, the situation will deteriorate significantly.”

The attack underscores growing concerns over antisemitic incidents tied to pro-Palestinian activism in Europe.

Greek police have yet to announce any arrests in the case.
