A crew member on a Delta Airlines flight from New York to San Diego on Friday morning brought some travelers to tears with remarks over the loudspeaker thanking passenger Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein of Chabad of Poway, where a deadly shooting took place over the Passover holidayThe Algemeiner has learned.

As the plane was landing, the Delta employee offered the company’s condolences to Rabbi Goldstein and his congregation and thanked the spiritual leader for his inspiring stance on the national stage in the aftermath of the April 27th terror attack that left one woman dead and three injured, including Goldstein, who was shot in the hand.

He is using the attack “as a platform to reach out to all of us, to speak to us – all religions, races, ethnicities – encouraging us to practice random acts of kindness, to be more respectful and more loving towards one another,” the crew member announced. “We shouldn’t focus on what’s not here any longer, but in any small way, we should try to make a positive impact on the lives that are here. Random acts of kindness. Thank you, Rabbi Goldstein.”

Another passenger on the flight, Melissa Weiss, who works as the national campus director for Jewish human rights group the Simon Wiesenthal Center, videoed the incident.
