A senior Hamas member was among at least four terrorists killed by an IDF airstrike in Gaza Sunday evening, according to Arab media reports.

“During operational activity, an exchange of fire broke out,” the IDF stated, adding that sirens were sounded in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Roughly a dozen missile strikes reportedly hit the Gaza Strip, near Khan Younis, as heavy fighting broke out. Nur Barakah, deputy commander of the al-Qassam Brigades, and his aide, Mohammed Al-Qara, an aide to Barakeh, were among the fatalities.

Residents near the Gaza border were instructed to remain close to their shelters.
