A soldier escaped with light injuries when a Palestinian tried mowing him down at a checkpoint in the Jordan Valley.

An IDF soldier guarding a checkpoint in the Jordan Valley was lightly injured Friday morning when a Palestinian man tried ramming a group of soldiers with his car.
An IDF spokesman said the soldier was being treated on the spot.
The driver attempted to flee to the Allenby Bridge but was arrested by authorities, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The incident happened near the Qasr el Yahud baptism site on the Jordan River after the driver was denied entry to the site.
