Late Wednesday afternoon, a civilian passerby thwarted a stabbing attack on an IDF soldier on the outskirts of Hebron.

Just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, a teenage Palestinian terrorist tried stabbing an IDF solder at the Elias Junction near Kiryat Arba, a suburb of Hebron.

A civilian who happened to be near the scene shot the assailant, 15-year-old Issa Daradat from the village of Sair, north of Hebron.

According to an army spokesman, the terrorist ran with a knife toward a bus station at the Elias Junction, where IDF soldiers were stationed.

Daradat is reportedly in moderate condition. After being treated by IDF medics, he was transported to a hospital.

Last month, an Israeli counter-terrorism police unit teamed up with the IDF to arrest a Palestinian terror cell in Hebron. The city is a hotbed of terrorism.
