Suspicious envelope sent to Prime Minister’s office

The envelope showed suspicious indicators during an initial inspection and was handled according to security protocols.

By World Israel News Staff

Police bomb disposal units and forensic investigators were dispatched Monday morning to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office after security personnel identified a suspicious envelope.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office Security and Emergency Division, the envelope showed suspicious indicators during an initial inspection and was handled according to established security protocols.

Authorities later confirmed the incident was resolved and that no danger was posed to staff.

“The envelope was treated in accordance with procedure. The handling of the incident has concluded, and no risk was posed to employees,” the office said in a statement.

Similar incidents involving suspicious mail have occurred in recent months.

Last April, a suspicious envelope sent to the Prime Minister’s Office triggered hazardous materials procedures before being cleared.

Comparable cases were also reported at the homes and offices of several Israeli lawmakers and ministers, where envelopes containing unidentified substances were examined and ultimately found not to pose a threat.
