Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was fined $11,593 by the NFL for wearing eye black that read “Stop the Genocide” during last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a league source confirmed.

Al-Shaair, who claimed to personally know who had been amputated due to “Israeli genocide,” said the message was “bigger than me” and acknowledged it “makes people uncomfortable” while responding to the fine, which was issued for violating the NFL’s uniform and equipment rules.

The league prohibits personal messages on game day apparel, including eye black.

The fine stemmed from Monday night’s wild-card game, when Al-Shaair took the field with the message displayed beneath his eyes.

The NFL’s policy requires that players’ equipment and apparel remain within league guidelines.

Al-Shaair’s season ended Sunday night when Houston lost to the New England Patriots, eliminating the Texans from the playoffs.

Is he going to Disney World? No, but maybe Gaza.
