One of the world’s most influential Arab social media personalities is taking a public stand against antisemitism, accusing Israel’s fiercest detractors of exploiting hatred of Jews while failing to confront Palestinian extremism.
Nuseir Yassin, the Israeli-born Muslim entrepreneur behind Nas Daily, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that anti-Zionism is a form of antisemitism, arguing that hostility toward Israel goes far beyond legitimate criticism of its government.
“We, as Palestinians, have the perfect enemy,” Yassin declared. “The most hated type of enemy, which is the Jews.”
With more than 68 million followers, Yassin is challenging a narrative that often dominates social media. “I’m a free-Palestine-from-Hamas guy. I’m free-Palestine-from-extremism,” he said, insisting that Palestinian liberation must also mean confronting radicalism.
The October 7 Hamas massacre marked a turning point in his identity. Once identifying primarily as Palestinian, Yassin began putting his Israeli identity first, saying he could no longer relate to the extremism he witnessed.
Despite his criticism of Israel’s government, he insisted that “the success of Israel and the Jewish people is also my success as an Israeli citizen.”
Yassin is now backing his words with action, bringing together 25 Jewish and 25 Muslim content creators to fight hatred and promote coexistence.
