Trump has already decided on Iran strikes, ‘the only question is when’ – report

Sources say the question is no longer whether President Trump will order strikes on Iran, but when they will take place and how wide the operation will be.

The White House has already decided on military intervention against the Iranian regime, a Western source claims, with President Donald Trump and his top advisers now working to determine the ideal timing and dimensions of a campaign against Tehran.

On Friday, the anti-regime outlet Iran International published a report citing an unnamed Western source familiar with talks on America’s response to the Iranian government’s violent crackdown on dissident protesters earlier this month.

The source emphasized that the White House has moved beyond the previous paradigm, under which the US sought to reach “a new agreement” with Tehran and avoid a military conflict.

Now, the source claimed, the focus of deliberations within the Trump administration has been the timing of American strikes, rather than whether such strikes will take place.

The president has reportedly already resolved to attack Iran and is now mulling when ot would be ideal to launch the new campaign, both in terms of operational requirements and political considerations.

“The decision has been made. This will happen. The only question is when,” the source said.

That window of opportunity could open within a matter of days, the source said, or alternatively, it could take several weeks to appear.

According to multiple reports, Trump has asked his advisers to put together a plan for striking Iran that would cause decisive damage to the regime and its ability to retain power.

The source cited in Friday’s report echoed this claim, stating that the primary objective laid out by American planners is the collapse of Iran’s governing structure.

The American operation will be “unprecedented,” the source said. “This time, we will be facing an attack the likes of which have not been seen before.”

Israel, the source continued, is on full alert in anticipation of a possible Iranian attack in response to American strikes.

He added that should Israel be drawn into the conflict, as is widely expected, the operation would expand massively, making the 12-day June war appear “very small” by comparison.
