President Trump says Iran has conceded it is in a “state of collapse” and needs the US to end its naval blockade immediately.

The Iranian regime has acknowledged to the United States that the country is facing imminent economic collapse, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, amid reports that Tehran increasingly fears the American naval blockade could leave the Islamic Republic vulnerable to a potential coup.
On Tuesday afternoon, President Trump penned a post on his Truth Social account, claiming the regime had reached out to the US to plead for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iran is on the verge of “collapse.”
“Iran has just informed us that they are in a ‘State of Collapse,’” Trump wrote.
“They want us to ‘Open the Hormuz Strait,’ as soon as possible, as they try to figure out their leadership situation (Which I believe they will be able to do!).”
There was no immediate confirmation by Iran of the president’s claims.
The comments come as talks between the two countries remain stalled, with the White House rejecting an overture by Tehran to negotiate a separate deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and to end the war, while leaving the nuclear issue for a later date.
On Tuesday night, a senior Iranian military official said the Islamic Republic remains on high alert and threatened to use “new methods of fighting” if hostilities with the United States resume.
“Conditions remain those of wartime,” said Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia.
“We have many cards we have not yet played. We possess new arenas of war, new tools, and new methods of fighting based on the experiences of the two previous wars.”
“We can certainly respond to the enemy more decisively and more crushingly,” he added.
