Iran war will be finished in ‘two to three weeks’ — Trump

U.S. officials signal the conflict is nearing its end, with President Trump saying he expects the fighting to wrap up by the end of April.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the ongoing conflict with Iran could end within weeks, telling reporters the fighting is likely to conclude by the end of April.

Speaking at a media conference in the Oval Office, Trump said he believed the war would be finished in “two or three weeks.”

“The U.S. military will “be leaving” Iran “very soon,” he said, emphasizing that global energy markets would stabilize quickly.

Gasoline prices have spiked since Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz following the outbreak of the war, but Trump predicted they would soon “tumble down” once the fighting is finished.

When reporters asked Trump for a hard deadline regarding the end of the war, Trump said that the conflict could end even sooner — “within maybe two weeks — maybe a couple of days longer.”

Several hours after Trump’s remarks, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News that the end of the conflict is approaching.

“We can see the finish line. It’s not today, it’s not tomorrow, but it is coming,” Rubio said.

“We are going to get to the point where our military will have achieved all of its objectives in this mission,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declined to offer a firm timeline for the end of Operation Epic Fury.

“Trump said the war would last ‘four to six weeks, six to eight weeks, three,’” Hegseth noted.

“It could be any particular number, but we would never reveal precisely what it is, because our goal is to finish those objectives, and we’re well on our way,” he said.

Hegseth said that the U.S. military would be ramping up its operations in the near future.

“The upcoming days will be decisive. Iran knows that, and there’s almost nothing they can militarily do about it,” he said.
