Trump issues ultimatum, promises ‘sad end’ for Hamas if they don’t agree to end Gaza war

Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon said, “If they reject the plan, Israel will finish the job.”

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas only days to decide on his newly unveiled Gaza peace plan, warning that rejection would leave Israel free to act decisively.

Speaking Tuesday, Trump said the terror group had “three to four days to respond” to the 20-point framework, adding that “Hamas is either going to be doing it or not, and if it’s not, it’s going to be a very sad end.”

Asked about the possibility of further talks, he replied there was “not much” room for negotiation.

The plan was rolled out at the White House on Monday during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following discussions between American and Israeli officials and a trilateral call with Qatar’s prime minister.

A source told CBS News that Hamas and other Palestinian groups are leaning toward accepting the proposal.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, stressed that a refusal would leave no option but for Israel to press forward.

“If they reject the plan, Israel will finish the job either the easy way or the hard way. Their return cannot wait,” Danon said, referring to hostages still held in Gaza.

He called the deal “a plan to end the tyranny of terror that was unleashed on October 7.”

The administration’s statement outlines that if both sides accept the plan, the war will end immediately and Israeli forces will withdraw to a designated line to prepare for a hostage release.

Military activity would be frozen during this period. Within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance, all hostages, alive and deceased, would be returned.

In exchange, Israel would release 250 prisoners serving life sentences, along with 1,700 Gazans detained after October 7, including all women and children.

For every Israeli hostage’s remains returned, Israel would release 15 deceased Gazans. Hamas members who renounce violence would receive amnesty, while those wishing to leave would be granted safe passage.

The agreement also includes large-scale humanitarian aid, with infrastructure rehabilitation, hospital and bakery restoration, and road clearing overseen by the UN, Red Crescent, and other international bodies.

A transitional Palestinian committee, supported by global experts, would administer Gaza under the supervision of a new “Board of Peace” chaired by Trump and including international leaders such as former British prime minister Tony Blair.

The plan further envisions major redevelopment, a special economic zone, and international investment aimed at creating jobs and hope for Gaza’s future.
