Trump Threatens to Hit Oil, Power, and Kharg Island

President Donald Trump said the United States is in “serious discussions” with what he described as a new and more reasonable leadership in Iran to end military operations, but warned that major strikes could follow if negotiations fail and the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “The United States of America is in serious discussions with a new and more reasonable regime to end our military operations in Iran. Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately open for business, we will conclude our stay in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their electric generating plants, oil wells and Kharg Island.”

Trump added that these targets had so far been intentionally avoided but could be struck in retaliation for American casualties and Iran’s actions over decades.

The comments come amid ongoing tensions in the region and growing concerns about the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes. Trump’s statement suggested that while negotiations may be underway, the United States is also preparing for the possibility of a significant escalation if a deal is not reached.
