Trump may fire Hegseth, Ratcliffe for opposing Iran deal; Rubio apparently safe

President Donald Trump is reportedly considering removing several senior administration officials who opposed the Iran memorandum of understanding, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, according to sources cited by Israel Hayom.

“The debate is over. Those who opposed it may pay a personal price,” a senior U.S. official told the outlet, describing internal White House deliberations over the agreement.

The report says Hegseth, Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials raised concerns about parts of the framework during internal discussions, while Vice President JD Vance and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner argued in favor of the deal.

Rubio is reportedly not considered at risk, having largely avoided public criticism of the agreement and remaining popular within the administration.
