Palestinian terrorists carried out two terror attacks on Sunday, wounding one Israeli. Both terrorists were shot dead.
In the first incident, a 16-year-old female attempted to stab Israeli civilians waiting for a bus at the Shomron Square in Samaria.
A motorist, former Samaria Council Head Gershon Mesika, saw her chasing an Israeli girl and rammed the terrorist with his car. She was then shot by an Israeli bystander and IDF forces.
“I was at the hitchhiking stop picking up passengers, when all of a sudden I saw a big woman wielding a knife chasing after another woman. I swerved to the right and ran into her,” Mesika told Ynet.
Palestinian sources identified the terrorist as Ashraqat Katanani, 16, from Shechem (Nablus).
Head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan lauded his predecessor’s “daring and resourceful” actions, while lamenting the fact that Israelis citizens are forced to contend with these violent scenes on a daily basis. “We regret this routine, but are thankful for such citizens,” he stated after the attack.
Fatah terrorists, affiliated with Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas, posted a photo of Mesika on Twitter with a target on his head following his life-saving action, calling for his death.
In the second incident, a Palestinian cab driver rammed his car into Israelis at the Kfar Adumim junction, near Jerusalem, and then exited his car with a knife in an attempt to stab nearby Israelis. He was shot dead by an Israeli citizen.
One Israeli was lightly wounded. Israeli medical services who treated him described the victim as a man aged 50 who had suffered wounds to his lower body.
He was evacuated to a Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem for further treatment.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri identified the terrorist as a man from the Palestinian village of al-Bireh near Ramallah.
These incidents were the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past two months, claiming the lives of 19 victims and wounding 177.
