US Details Rules for Hormuz Blockade Enforcement

According to Reuters, the U.S. has outlined enforcement rules for its naval blockade, which will be applied in the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea, east of the Strait of Hormuz.

The blockade applies to all vessels regardless of flag, with ships entering or exiting the restricted zone without authorization subject to interception, diversion, or seizure.

Free passage through the Strait of Hormuz itself to non-Iranian destinations will be maintained, while humanitarian shipments will be allowed subject to inspection.

President Trump said the United States will begin blocking ships entering or leaving Iranian ports today at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (17:00 Israel time).
