US eyes Iranian assets to pay for Gulf attack damage

The United States is reportedly preparing a dramatic move that could force Iran to pay for the damage caused by its missile and drone attacks on Gulf allies, raising the stakes in the already volatile standoff with Tehran.

According to reports, the Trump administration is exploring ways to redirect Iranian assets to help repair damage in Bahrain and Kuwait, both of which came under attack during Iran’s latest retaliation campaign. US officials are also assessing the full cost of the strikes as pressure mounts on the Iranian regime.

The proposal comes as ceasefire talks appear to be stalling, and after another weekend of direct military clashes between the two sides. If implemented, the move would hit Tehran where it hurts most, its finances, and could trigger a fierce response from a regime already demanding the release of billions of dollars in frozen assets
