Washington man charged with plotting mass murder of Jews

The Anti-Defamation League had sent the FBI  numerous posts from suspect Dakota Reed, who faces two felony charges.

A Washington State white supremacist has been charged with two felony counts to bomb or injure property after posting death threats online for months against Jews, according to a report Monday by local online site HeraldNet.

Dakota Reed, 20, posted hateful rhetoric and warnings that he would kill Jews in seven Facebook accounts under different names. One November post read, “I’m shooting for 30 Jews. No pun needed. Long ways away anyways. See you Goys.”

Reed was arrested in December after the Anti-Defamation League tipped off the federal authorities to his string of threatening posts that included a call to “take back your future one synagogue at a time.” He also described a fantasy in detail about killing a Jewish child.

At the time, he was charged with making bomb threats and malicious harassment, a hate crime. However, the final charges did not include a hate crime. Reed is currently waiting for trial while free on a $50,000 bail.

Reed said that his violent plans were to be executed only in the long term, mentioning the year 2025 several times.

Police found an arsenal of weapons at his mother’s home where he lived, according to the report. Among the stash were twelve guns, ammunition, military helmets, gas masks, fascist symbols and hand-written notes “espousing white supremacy,” according to the charge sheet.

Reed had posted that he was “saving up to buy more guns and ammo to kill (((rats))) and animals.” The parentheses are anti-Semitic code for  Jews, as is the comparison to rodents. He also posted pictures of himself giving the Nazi salute and claimed to be a member of the Klu Klux Klan.

In another post, Reed wrote about “pulling a Dylann Roof,” a reference to the white supremacist who gunned down nine African-Americans in a church in 2015 and was sentenced to life without parole after pleading guilty to the murders.

According to the HeraldNet, in an interview with a detective and the FBI, Reed “struggled to articulate why he’d directed his anger at Jews.”

“I’ve been around some Jews in my life,” the HeraldNet reported Reed said. “There’s a community here in Washington. They’ve done things as far as to — um. Maybe it wasn’t too personal, but I’ve had them lie to me, I’ve had them, um, I guess, well, this one probably wasn’t their fault, but I’ve had girls like them over me. I’ve, uh, what was the other one?”
