Some 100,000 people gathered at the Western Wall in Jerusalem late Thursday night for special penitential prayers before Yom Kippur, Judaism’s Day of Atonement. The mass prayer event was hosted by Israel’s two chief rabbis, Arutz7 reports.
Citing the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the website reports “an estimated one-and-a-half million people visited the Western Wall Plaza during the month of Elul, which precedes the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays.”
