Keren Tendler is a name that has special meaning. She was a brave airborne mechanic who died when her helicopter was brought down by a missile over the skies of Lebanon. It took a special rescue mission to recover her body.
Tendler was the first female airborne fighter to be killed outside the borders of Israel. She was also the only female soldier who died in the Second Lebanon War.
