In 2012, more than a thousand paintings looted from Jewish families by Hildebrand Gurlitt, a Nazi art dealer and collector, were discovered in his grandson’s home, reports i24 News.
Now at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, a “quest to discover the origins of the artwork and return them to their rightful owners” has begun, says i24 News.
The exhibition, Fateful Choices: Art From the Gurlitt Trove, is on display until January 20, 2020.
