The mainstream media struggled to declare a motive after Mohamed Soliman on Sunday threw Molotov cocktails at—and used a makeshift flamethrower on—Boulder, Colo., demonstrators raising awareness for Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
While an NBC reporter noted the next morning that the suspect “did yell the words ‘Palestine is free,'” multiple talking heads said they wanted to be cautious about labeling the attack as anti-Semitic terror.
