Palestinian Football Association leader Jibril Rajoub was banned by FIFA, the international football association, for inciting hatred and violence in June when he called on sports fans to burn photos and T-shirts of Argentine star player Lionel Messi if he attends a match between Argentina and Israel in Jerusalem. Israel opened up a criminal investigation after the Argentinean team was pressured into cancelling the game.
