On Friday, in the Polish town of Parchnik, a giant doll with sterotypical Jewish features, including a long nose, black hat and sidelocks, was hung in a public square before being dragged through the streets, beaten with sticks and lit on fire. It was mostly children who participated in the beating.
The event took place on the eve of Passover, coinciding with Easter weekend. The doll represented Judas Iscariot, a Jewish character said to have betrayed Jesus.
