The streets of Jerusalem were blocked Sunday afternoon as tens of thousands attended the funeral of Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, 86, leader of the ultra-Orthodox “Jerusalem Faction.” The spiritual leader, a renowned Torah scholar, died of a heart attack early Saturday morning. He was known for his controversial position against IDF service for yeshiva students.
