White House: Trump was correct ‘from the get-go’ on JCC bomb threats

White House Press Secretary said those who pointed at the political right for bomb threats against Jewish community centers should be called out.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer called out those who accused right-wingers for the countrywide waves of bomb threats against Jewish institutions and community centers.

“There was an immediate jump to criticize folks on the right and to denounce people on the right and ask them to condemn them, and it turns out that, in fact, it wasn’t someone on the right,” noted Spicer during a press conference on Monday.  “The President, from the get-go, had said, I bet you it’s not someone (from the right-wing) and he was right.”

An Israeli-American, allegedly with mental and psychological problems, was arrested on suspicion of perpetrating the bomb threats.

President Donald Trump, who previously referred to the anti-Semitic threats as both “horrible” and “painful,” had reportedly suggested that instead of the far-right, the bomb threats may have come from “the reverse, to make people, or to make others look bad.” Buzzfeed reported on Trump’s remarks as quoted by Pennsylvania’s State Attorney General, Josh Shapiro.

Spicer called for those who made such prejudgments to own up and to be held accountable for rushing to conclusions.

“When people are charging something of someone that is not true, there has been nothing to go back to those individuals — nothing — on the left who came and asked for everyone on the right to denounce something that they weren’t guilty of,” Spicer said.

“We saw that the President was right and that this rush to judgment by a lot of folks on the left was wrong, and none of them have been held to account on that, and that is something that equally needs to be called out.”
