The overwhelming majority of Israeli Jews support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to launch an air campaign against Iran in conjunction with the United States, a new poll shows.

On Monday afternoon, the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) published the results of its Israeli Society Index survey for March.

The poll surveyed 591 Israeli Jews and 201 Israeli Arabs from March 2-5.

Nearly three-quarters (72%) of all respondents backed the decision to strike Iran, the poll found, with a significant split between Jewish and Arab Israelis.

While just 20% of Arab Israelis said they supported the decision, 85% of Israeli Jews backed the move.

There was also a smaller partisan split, with 97% of Jewish right-wingers backing the decision, compared to 48% of Jewish left-wingers, 77% of centrists, 93% of respondents on the center-right, and 61% on the center-left.

A smaller majority of Israelis (65%) said they believe the war with Iran will improve the long-term situation in the Middle East, compared to 10% who think it could make it worse.

Among Jews, 75% believe the war will improve the long-term situation, while just 3% said it will worsen it.

The JPPI’s Israeli Society Index, which tracks Israeli views on the White House, reported the highest level of support ever recorded for President Donald Trump.

Three-quarters of Israelis and 82% of Israeli Jews said they have a great deal or some trust in President Trump to “do the right thing” regarding US-Israel relations. Thirty-four percent of Israelis and 39% of Jews had a “great deal” of trust in Trump.

The previous high recorded during this administration was in January 2025, when Trump returned to office.

At the time, 32% of Israelis had a “great deal” of trust that Trump would do the right thing in terms of US-Israel relations, while 72% had some or a great deal of trust.
