ADL headquarters rattled by bomb threat

Although the bomb threat against the ADL was determined to have been “not credible,” the organization is “taking it very seriously.”

The headquarters of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a Jewish organization that primarily operates to fight anti-Semitism, received an anonymous bomb threat on Wednesday making it the latest incident in a wave of threats against Jewish institutions across the United States.

“This is not the first time that ADL has been targeted, and it will not deter us in our efforts to combat anti-Semitism and hate against people of all races and religions,” stated Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO for the ADL.

Although law enforcement authorities determined the bomb threat to have been “not credible,” Greenblatt is not taking the threat lightly.

“While there is no information at this time to indicate that this is more than a threat, we are taking it very seriously,” he stressed. “We are working with law enforcement officials to determine if it is connected to similar threats against Jewish institutions across the country.”

Greenblatt, on Tuesday, had already called upon the administration of President Donald Trump to reveal strategies on countering the large number of anti-Semitic threats in recent weeks.

“Glad @POTUS stated #antisemitism is horrible,” Greenblatt acknowledged on Twitter, referencing Trump’s remarks on Tuesday calling anti-Semitic threats “horrible” and “painful.”

“Now need @whitehouse to share plans on how to ‘stop’ it. ADL ready to help.”
